Regarding the article "Indian Sports Scene-2003," which appeared in The Sportstar dated January 3, the ace shooter Anjali Bhagwat clarifies: To
Editor-in-Chief,
Sir, Thank you for the consistently fine coverage of sports, particularly shooting, in your esteemed magazine. However, I am shocked about a factually incorrect observation made in the article, "Indian Sports Scene-2003, A flurry of outstanding performances" in The Sportstar issue dated January 3, 2004. The photo caption on page 58 (for my photo) and the article state that I had achieved a string of wins against arch-rivals on the European circuit. Let me humbly mention that I had won the World Cup gold in Fort Benning, U. S. and the gold in the World Cup Finals in Milan, Italy, in a memorable season in 2003. Thankfully, most of the achievements have been very well recounted in your magazine. That is why I am puzzled about someone making such a poor observation. In a sum up of the year for the Indian sportspersons, especially in the only comprehensive sports magazine of the country, it is only natural that we expect you to acknowledge the biggest achievements. Anjali Bhagwat.
